After 5 o clock its like youve died and gone to suit heaven, most of whom are extremely annoying .
That said whighams is actually a decent spot for one or two before moving on - it has tucked away cellars for tables , subdued lighting , excellent service which means yr never waiting long for a drink even when its packed .
Havent tried the food but the menu looks like its at least had some thought put into it . Not bad at all in the scheme of edinburgh citycentre boozers.

Title:    Decent lunch, good when the suits aren't in.

I had lunch here recently and, whilst not amazing, it was descent and I would go back again. They have quite a wide selection of sea food options on the menu.

The atmosphere at lunchtimes seems relaxed. The service was prompt, without being rushed - good if you are on a lunch break.

I've also been in during the evening a few times and it has lost of bit of its dark, cosy atmosphere since they've expanded, though still worth popping in for. It can be a bit of a suits den on a Friday night though.

Just eaten in Whighams Wine Bar and very disappointed. Indifferent service, very average menu, salad not fresh, left all of my main course and no one bothered to inquire why. Left and moved on elsewhere for dessert. Worst meal I've eaten in Edinburgh for ages.

This place used to be great wee cosy basement pub based around seating situated in a number of cellars. Recently it has been expanded by knocking through to next door and as a result I think it has lost some of its old charm. Decent food drink and service.
