This is a seriously good pub for anyone who likes good beer, good company and the added bonus of live traditional music.

Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying some very well kept pints of Courage Directors - a very pleasant surprise to see it on pump in a proper Edinburgh boozer.

Great pub , friendly people either side of the bar, good live folk sessions , good quality beer that wont break your bank account . Youre guarenteed a chat and a laugh if you come in here alone .
Its a tiny little pub but its got a big spirit and its always packed . A proper edinburgh boozer , the kind that will never go out of fashion.

Very friendly and cosmopolitan - maybe the Scots don't hate us as much as they pretend to? Excellent music and ambience. We went twice before Hogmanay - that was all we needed for a perfect holiday.

Yep, Sandy Bells is definately a sound choice... Live music every night, and its all good and traditional. A great place for chilled out drinking with a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, not a big night out destination by any means, but you could easily while lose an entire night to ale and music in this place... and not regret it.

This is the place for tourists and locals. Always friendly, reasonably priced and good traditional music. I have taken many overseas vistors there - and they've all loved it.

Bells is one of those rare pubs, a place for locals and visitors. Enjoy a quiet pint and mind your own business at the end of the bar or bring your guitar or fiddle etc., and join in the sessions. Good beer, good malts and good craic. What more can be said?
