Granted it's not the best bar in Edinburgh but it's great if you're just looking for a cheeky pint.

If you're a student ask the staff for a rush card (they're free) and it'll only cost you a pound for drinks and unlike other pubs and clubs this offer is on all day every day. If you're not a student then look for someone showing a black card when buying their drinks and ask if you can borrow it. Students share discount cards all the time so they won't think much of it.

Yes it really is, Rush is just lovely, all you scallywags come on here slagging rush off when it is very clearly one of Edinburgh's better pubs. Iv been drinking a long time in rush and can be found at the end of the bar jumper round waste, goatie and curls springing from my cap, so if you have anything bad to say about rush come and find me and will take you outside and set you striaght!!! i tell you rush is lovely its just lovely!

I've been around a few of the darkest urine soaked pits in my time growing up in Cumbernauld, however, walked into this place and could not believe my eyes! They've managed to capture the vibe of a bog without any of the satisfaction involved, truly a miraculous place of squalor and deprivation. Looking for a fight and a warm pint of Tennents this is your place, if not keep on walking�

Rush is a great wee pub at the end of the cowgate. The staff are all really cool and rememeber you when you go in again. good prices for drink esp considering you are in the capital. DJs fri and sat nights. the banter is immense, go to rush, its brilliant.

a great laugh and a good atmosphere. If you are up for a night out with friends i would recommend it. hell even the bar staff drink in there on their nights off!!

Yeah so you got cheap drinks, but you can get TASTY cheap drinks elsewhere without having to barge your way through the crowds. This "popular" place makes it fill up with those that should never drink. Completely crowded, with sticky floors and most likely half your pint knocked into you. The only things this place has got going for it is it's price and the foosball table, if your lucky enough to get to play on it.

Rush is really pretty good. Nice n cheap n lots of nice people with a good mix of nationalities. I'd recommend it for the fusball alone but thats not all there is to the place! The pub quiz is good too altho thats maybe cos I can win it! No food but good drink hence the 3 in the food n drink section.

The rush bar used to be one of my favorite pubs for starting a night off in £1.25 a drink on basically everything exscluding guiness and £1.75 after 9 by this point in the night most hardcore drinkers have left and are continuing there night out elsewhere. The staff in the rush are usually friendly and happy to help however when the que's are deep expect to get bumped by them a good few times regardless of when you joined the que. The jukebox is predictable for a modern pub with a mixture of old a new cd's. On the food side of the rush well there is none no snacks or food. Every so often there are playstation 2 competitions where the victor will be one crate of beer and a few more alcohol orientated prizes better off all of which are free to enter and usually good fun. There is also free fuzeball (table football) if you can get a shot on the table. However recently the prices on drinks have been pushed upto £1.75 all the time not too bad but 50p is quite a jump overninght all and all a good pub to start your night off in.
