Have a soft spot for this place but its not a patch on the bar it used to be when it brewed its own ales .
Last time i popped in i found poor service , dirt tables and a lot of very drunk people. could maybe do with a doorman ?
The restaurant upstairs has always been top notch though so i can deffo recommend that

Had lunch in upstairs restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The food was great! You have to try the chocolate cake - it literally oozed chocoate sauce. The staff was the best. Will definitely return!!!

The bar was fantastic, the staff were great, especially Colin, he made my night! He gave me so much attention we thought we were back in San Francisco! Wee cutie! Can't think of anything else. Colin, call us!

I recall as a child I used to visit a fantastic steakhouse on Rose Street with great food served on cutting boards and a real flame grill fire. Unfortunately, now I have grown up the restaurant is no longer there and has been consumed by some pub with a strange name. Imagine my surprise when I found the wonders of Rose Street Brewery last summer. Just next to the Mussel Inn, Rose Street Brewery a real gem. I must admit on first impressions it didn't look like much of an establishment. That was until I found the hidden restaurant up a very discreet stair to the side of the pub that is on the ground floor. + The Best Restaurant on Rose Street + Steaks are speciality (Fresh steaks delivered every day) 11 types/cuts (including T-Bone) + Great Value (T-Bone for about £15) and the best service I have ever experienced anywhere + Excellent, freshly cooked quality food which makes a welcome change from all those other pub chains that seem to microwave everything. - Toilets could be better Service from Rosey was fantastic (I am not kidding about the name!!, she was the best waitress I have ever had serve me!!)
