Having not been for a long time, its nice to see people working hard at improving. the toilets although needing a refurb are always spotless at the start of an evening, and with a new cocktail menu they are getting better. try the adolph( the golden shower!) or the tangy taffee.
al still doing a fabby job of keeping us entertained.

Just back from a festival night in Edinburgh. News is travelling abouth the singer Ian Hunter who sings there every month. HE was brilliant. The bar was bouncing the dance floor full and his voice fabulous. This bar is pretty lucky to have this guy as he should be in Vegas or somwhere big. A few of my friend have seen him as well and the news is travelling. don't think he'll be there much longer so go see him while you can. What a brilliant bar and a great night out.

Been to this bar a few times now, always a fantastic atmosphere, live music every night from what i gather. Staff are friendly always willing to help you if needed and quick at serving. They have a good selection of cocktails also.
Great music every night, with a wide range been played and sang by the piano entertainers. Even one of the barmen can play some amazing stuff.
Only let down is the toilets, but dont let them put you off you go for a great time not the loo!
Recommend the Rat Pack Piano bar to anyone who wants a good night out especially at the weekend it is always buzzing.

Had a great night here last night, music was good, atmosphere was brilliant, drinks a little on the expensive side but acceptable nonetheless, however the one major letdown with this place is the toilets. cold, smelly, most of them don't even work, neither does the hand dryer. get it fixed and we'll keep coming back

we were having a good night here last night but then a fight broke out and it ruined the atmosphere for a bit it was taken care of quickly and the piano player good everyone swinging again soon after.

The Staff were extremely helpful in helping me when I set my hands on fire with flaming sambucas. Bouncers also ushered me to the toilets - how nice.

i am writing this to let people know about quite possibly the best bar in Edinburgh. i found this little gem a few weeks ago, and am now a regular. it has great live music, nice, cool interior with comfy sofa's. its like a bar from george street that has been ripped out and put in the west end. the weekends is the best, although you may have to que to get in, its worth the 5min wait and with there being no cover charge its even better. they have a cocktail menu which is small but quality and the barstaff are always quick and polite when dealing with you....YOU have to see this place at midnight on a friday or saturday to believe it........its brilliant

i was there with a group of friends a couple of weeks ago and we had a great time, this place could cheer up some of the saddest people. Great music, good happy staff the only downside i would say its not the classiest place in edinburgh but maybe the upmarket bars should take a look at this place when it comes to atmosphere. I'll be back in next week.

This is a great little bar. The staff were friendly and cheerie and although there was no cocktail menu they fixed us up with some yummy concoctions when asked. The place was jumping when the piano man came on and that kept us there for the rest of the night. My only gripe would be that the place was ludicrously hot for such a cool little bar and running water in the gents would have been nice. Apart from these minor issues, a great night out was had by all.

we were on our way home after the theatre when we heard some sinatra booming out the door and thought we would pay a visit as this is our thing. imagine our surprise when we didnt find a quiet little bar playing music what we found was truly amazing. Yes a modern bar with a live sinatra impersonator with every age group singing and dancing. the oldies are always the best. sorry to my son who had to come and pick us up because we ended up staying past our last bus home. please plesae let us know when this great entertainer will be back.

popped in after the football celebrations and found a guy doing a sinatra tribute gig he was absolutely great and told us that he had done a gig at the Bellagio in vegas dont know if he has or not but he certainly should it was our first time in and it wasnt bad, music after he left wasnt the best but you cant have everything but hearts are in europe cheers guys

couldnt believe how busy it was for a wednesday evening after 12 it bounces well worth a visit we were from out of town but felt relaxed and right at home will recommend to all our colleagues from Kansas.keep up the good work and dont give me any more duvel!!!

thursday night seemed to be quiet everywhere we went,till we gotto the rat pack,this place is probably not one of the places to be seen in edinburgh.... but it has a great atmosphere we spend the night there,the guy on the piano really knew how to get the cowd bouncing,and all the staff is very friendly.u

i went to the rat pack on thursday night and discovered kirsty baird again! she previously sang @ ryans bar. kirsty is fab, she will sing any song for you and the banter is great! she rawks!

We visited this club some four or five weeks ago for the first time and were immediately impressed.It was stylish and classy without being pretentious and the staff were so friendly and helpful.One barman was even doing all the Tom Cruise cocktail tricks.The guy on the piano was amazing although he did keep interreupting the rythym of the music by talking over the mic or getting the crowd to sing.There was no trouble apart from one guy who was being a bit agressive to some other guys but he was dealt with swiftly,by some big, bald bouncer called Kev who jenna spent most of the night chatting up.He was gorgeous though.Definately the place to be!!!

It was a saturday night on the town, not looking very prosperous when we stumble across a bright white sign in the middle of the west end, The Rat Pack, Didn't really have much to offer from the outside so we walked over to lattache and found a rock band making lots of noise so we didnt even go to the bar and decided we would try the rat pack but didnt expect it to be any better, but what a find this place was great, we spent the rest of the night in this place and its first on my hit list when im out and about. Al james giving it his all and the staff actually spoke to you and treated you like a customer which is alot more than i can say about most of edinburghs bars. Dont miss visiting this place!

just when it seems that there is no where to go for a great late night out the rat pack has appeared. with friendly staff and great music al james was exceptional we spent a long evening singing and drinking and managed not to get thrown out.we will definately be back. keep up the good work guys.

Enjoyed listening to PAUL ELLIS and STUART they are amazing. when are they coming back to this bar. Paul Ellis is brilliant and sounds so much like Sinatra.

Was looking through the gig guide and saw the advert for the Rat Pack Piano Bar (I think this was formerly 'Vice'?).
We turned up and amazingly, no queue! What a great find this was, really good music, friendly staff and the drink prices were also very reasonable despite the bar having live entertainment six nights a week.
The guy on piano didnt start until around 11pm (to be fair it is open until 3am) but he was really good with the crowd and the place soon got busy. Sadly we had to leave for out last train home otherwise we would have stayed all night.
We will definately be returning soon with some friends. A great night out and, IMHO one of the best live music bars in Edinburgh.
