slowest bar staff ever and pretty rude actually.
couldn't even be bothered to get me a taxi number. no help whatsoever
they all need personality transplants, all but 2 lovely men who were cheery. u know who u r

Henrys is a brilliant bar- always have a great time there staff are very friendly and its a fun night out with yummy cocktails!!- especially tropicana!! BUT doormen are on huge powertrips and overly aggressive this really needs sorted as it can really put you off when they are so nasty for no reason!!

Once a happening freindly place that i always related to Cheers. Now well past it. staff, door staff, food and decor all have slumped to new lows.
As for the cocktail menu- How long as it been now?? 5 years nearly! You can only colour photocopy something so many times!!
It's Hank still thou not as we all remember and loved him.

2 words - AMAZING COCKTAILS! And if you have a Snapfax, you get them dirt cheap too! Food's not bad either & barstaff are pretty friendly. The only downside to Henry J's is the dated decor & dodgy loos, it could do with a bit of a revamp.

after many years of drinking in henry j beans i have noticed how the service and the attitude of the staff and the door staff have changed. the service in the bar is not good when you finally get served you fell that you are harassing the bar staff and ot his a inconvience for them to service you. and as far as the door staff are concered there behaviour is total outrages there is not word that i would like to say on this matter i can not express my disgust in them. i am sorry to say that i will never entry this place again. place bring a in adiffrent team for tha bar and the door sevice

Henry Js in one of the best pubs in Edinburgh by far!!!!! The only bad thing of late is that some nights it is far too hot if you get some air conditioning it will certainly be the best!!!! All i have left to say is When is the next cocktail comp?????

why bother stoneage doormen cant communicate bar has lost its edge management seem devoid of any inspiration and the quality of the cocktails is not what it was this pub needs to change because its location demands that it should be run properly come on caledonian improve the quality or just give up the current set up is not working

Having been a regular at henry's for a number of years, i think it is important to let people know how good this edinburgh treasure is. from the amazingly quick polite service to the skills the bartenders have, to the ambience of the place and to the island bar situated in the middle. geaorge street bars are here, and more will come, however, some will go, but henrys will (hopefully) remain.
i would like to see the amazing cocktail compititions return, with all the great bartenders of edinburgh returning to compete and entertain, (and hopefully see another of henrys own Gordon Douglas's infamouse routines).......in short: Henrys is the place to go, be and stay!

having been a long time regular at henrys i was appalled at the attitude and the language of the doorstaff on friday evening 17/3. bring back rab doorman from 10 years ago when i started drinking there the management need to sort this because i wont be back and neither will many other patrons

This Henry J Beans is definately a cool pub. Great music & atmosphere. Although the staff seemed to be happy and friendly enough the service was so slow! I saw people waiting atleast 20 minutes to buy a drink. I went on a Friday when the drinks were Buy one get one free until 8pm but after 8pm I was getting charged £7 odds for a Pint of Lager and a Peach Schnapps & Lemonade which I thought was a bit steep!

Henry Js is one of the best bars in Edinburgh!! the staff are all great bouncers Djs and Bar staff and really friendly. Great for a boogie before you go clubbing and they have always got great promo's on the cocktails (dont forget your snapfax for buy 1 get 1 free). try it you'll love it!!!
