This is an excellent pub. We had mighty craic here. Locals are extremely friendly. The atmosphere is unbelievable. The alcohol flows...like water from a tap. Keep the heads low especially after the football matches. There could be punches!!!! If you are a dolly girl leave your glad rags at home because the lads here are as normal and sound as it gets which is a rarity!!! If i was living in Edinburgh full time this would be my local.

Great little pub right by the train station. It seems more like a locals pub, but my wife and I felt very welcome. Donna the bar manager was great. Didn't have any food, but the Bellhaven was wonderful.

Great wee pub but the drunks in here are REALLY drunk. Canny stand, bite their wee finger or see straight drunk.Staff fast & friendly -the music is great-Ladies loo clean, but you often have to climb over aforesaid drunks to gain access. Still, don't miss this pub-the music and atmosphere is top

Used to like going in there for a chat and a catch up with friends.
Unfortunately the mix seems to changed with the new ownership and the atmosphere has changed with it.
The crap that weren't allowed in with the old team are back and its lost that charm.
Sorry but some change is good but others .......

By morning - Hungover Busking bagpipers!
("You can see the spew coming out of the drones...").

By daytime - same busking bagpipers and Edinburgh Tour Guides.

By night - the best craic in musical Edinburgh.

And onetime haunt of the late great Susannah Scott, raconteuse, patriot and sensational drinker. (RIP)

Having just arrived from Seattle USA, a brisk walk brought us to the Hebrides. Met a few few sweet ladies and before the week was through came to feel this was a special place! Great music too.

Situated minutes from Waverly station this small but welcoming pub is well worth a visit. It is also a pub I would consider truly Scottish and has a good atmosphere with a good mix of locals and passing tourists. Also live music on occasions. Well worth a visit.
