We had a fantastic night out in Harry's Bar last Friday night. The place was packed, bar service very quick and the music was fantastic. Everything from the 60's Motown to 70's/80's even current stuff. Really nice polite DJ,a rarity these days. He even played our request for us as it was our friends hen night. Good door staff. We loved it and will be back!

Well we went on friday 1st june for a drink at 11 pm, busy bar friendly doormen and fast bar staff, underground venue, but oh the dj was far too loud and too much talking, choice of music was good with 70's and 80's and a wee bit dance but far too loud, the music was distorted, when we asked him to turn it down he just stared at us, complained to the manager a small guy and he just shrugged his shoulders, we found out dj's name it was gordon and altough polite the music was far too loud, so we left and thought we would try it on a saturday as we were told, a different dj was on, well busier bar about 10-30 pm with a different dj, a big lad who was polite and played our two requests, bar service was again great and a good selection, lager a bit warm though, full of people giving it large and busy dancefloor, the dj on a saturday is more quieter but it was a better atmosphere simply because the music was not so loud, thanks to the dj we think his name was steven, a guy in his forties, and we will be back, but not on a friday, definately a saturday, the girls from Falkirk.

i went in here last saturday night and it was the first bar i'd been in in Edinburgh and i felt it was very welcoming, the doorman was friendly, the staff were welcoming, and the atmosphere was good too. We came in at the beginning of the night for a few drinks and later on when it was more lively and thought it was great!

Like ryans its a popular after work haunt on a friday - usually an older crowd . Let down by the deafening cheesy party music pumped out indiscriminately.
Bar service is good and the quality and range of drinks excellent too .
Have to say always been treated respectably by the door staff too (a luxury in edinburgh)
Not bad for a couple of drinks to start the night off ..

This is a handy bar for after an after work drink. Service is ok, drinks ok. So the moans must come from that section of the population who accept poor service, pricey beer, sticky cocktails and deafening music as the sign of a good pub.Maybe older people come here because none of the above apply. It's ok as a bar.

The place has got an older feel to it but it's a great place to start the night. It's good fun and fairly priced for the town plus it's not full of pretentious people and it doesn't take you an hour to get a drink like every where else in town!!

Friday nights find this place filled with very old, very pissed folk dancing gracelessly to hits of the fifties and sixties. Surly bartenders, bad ambiance, lots of creepy men and women who've seen a few too many pubs in their day. The doormen are very polite, though.

Sleazy is not the word - old gropers would be at home here - as well as has-been blondes! Drinks are cheap and so are the clientele. Music is OK - Friday night DJ is not great. Great place for a laugh - usually at someone else's expense of course. Enjoy!!

This is a cheerfull pub/club very popular with after workers and frankly old folk (especiallly chicks in their 40's with v.bad tanning accidents)
If you don't mind a fare dose of cheesy seventies and eighties pop stuff and after a craich then this place is nay bad. Its up to you how long you stay...
To its credit it is fairly lively, offers free entry and is open late.
